Do your feel like your have no control over our own happiness? Do you feel like the circumstances in your life would have to change for you to feel happy? What if there were something you could do right now to make yourself happy? You don't have to wait for something to change in your life for you to be happy. You don't have to win the lottery, get a new job, find a new partner, or even lose weight. However, the key to winning the lottery, getting a new job or finding a new partner is to first be happy. It really is that simple. No matter what is going on in your life, you have the ability to stop and be happy. How can you do that? Try this one easy step. Use your imagination. No matter how bad a day you are having , you can escape to a happy place in your mind by using your imagination. Try it right now. Right now imagine that someone has given you a gift of ten thousand dollars and has said you must spend it within 24 hours on yourself. For the next 5 minutes close your eyes and imagine spending it. Think of luxuries you can buy, services you can enjoy, rooms you can decorate or anything else you enjoy. Don't hold back, be frivolous and enjoy the money. Enjoy spending it. Notice how you begin to feel. Most people report that they immediately feel less tense and more relaxed. To expand my consciousness without limits, I do this exercise every morning when I wake up. Sometimes I imagine that I receive a ten thousand dollar gift that is mine to spend, and sometimes I imagine that I receive a 50,000 dollar gift that I must spend. Then before I get up, I spend it in my imagination. Sometimes I buy an expensive car and sometimes I spend it all on pampering services, new landscaping, changing my kitchen, etc. No matter what I do, the sky is the limit for that day and the next day, I start over again. Ironically, it has prompted to really think about the things that I would like, but limit myself. I have actually made some changes, based on my meditations. It is truly a challenge to stretch my imagination without limits . This exercise allows you to experience immediate happiness. Your mind does not know what is real or what is imagined, so by doing this exercise, you experience the benefits of being happy. According to the Law of Attraction, when you are in a state of happiness, you release resistance; when you release resistance, it is easier to attract the things you desire. So, the trick is to be happy. It may seem like a catch 22 because you want something to be happy about before you feel happy, yet you most likely will not have things to be happy about unless you are already happy. When you are angry, frustrated, jealous, resentful you attract from that vibration. For example, remember the last time you were annoyed and irritable? You go to the supermarket and everything seems to go wrong. You can't find what you need, you drop things and the line for check out is taking forever. Because you are so irritated, you get into an argument with the cashier and you find yourself being rude and huffy. This type of angry vibration activates more anger and keeps you further from your goal of feeling happy. So, when you feel angry, depressed, fearful, annoyed, impatient, etc., find a place to sit down for 5 minutes and use your imagination to rebalance your emotions. Use your imagination to imagine doing something you love, or picture yourself shopping for new clothes, or redecorating your room. You will notice an immediate shift in your feelings and you will begin to feel happy. No person or material possession outside of yourself is responsible for making you happy. Happiness is something you can create with your thoughts and imagination. So, now that you have a way to activate your imagination, use it everyday to create happiness on the spot, regardless of the outside circumstances. Remember, your current circumstances are a result of your past thinking. Your future circumstances will be a result of your current thinking. Some of may favorite things: silk sheets, new bedspread set and curtains, organizers for my shoes, large colorful pictures for the wall, a manicurist to come to my house, white wicker furniture with grass green cushions, lilac bushes, my own personal vegetarian cook at my house. Make a list of your favorite things
