Cell phones come in handy for many of our daily phone calls, but did you know that they have special features that could be a life saver in the case of an emergency. Most of us don't take the time to investigate all of the functions and phone numbers that make the cell phone a valuable tool. Write down the following numbers and keep them in your wallet. Make sure everyone in your family knows about these numbers. It could be very beneficial in an emergency.
1. (112) is the worldwide emergency number for mobile phones and can be used regardless of your service provider
- Dial this number if your find yourself out of the coverage area of your mobile network .
- The mobile will search any existing network to establish the emergency number for you
- 112 can be dialed even if your keypad is locked..

2. Do you know that your cell phone has hidden battery power.

Know your phone's serial number ! Press (*#06# ) and the 15 digit serial code will appear on the screen. This number is unique to your handset. Write it down and keep it somewhere safe.
If you phone is ever lost or stolen, your service provider can block the phone even if the thief change the SIM card, your phone is totally useless. It won't return your phone, but the phone won't be able to be used.
If more people did this, it would discourage cell phone theft
